We Have a Substack: Won’t You Sign Up?

In the last few years, Substack has become an important place for encountering books and writers and a great place to sign up for interesting newsletters. Of course, Orange Blossom Ordinary is on there. We’d love to have you follow us on Substack.

We send an email through our Substack once a week. It gives you a little taste of what we’ve published that week. It’s basically a sneak preview of each website post, to help you better decide which post to click on first. It is totally free.

Our Substack also has some features you won’t find elsewhere. For starters, you can comment on things. You can also message us directly from the platform. If you get on Substack, you can find more people doing things like what we’re doing. Occasionally we recommend other people, occasionally other people recommend us. But you can also just open the emails and never really worry about the Substack site at all, if that’s your preference.

Lastly, we’re doing a little more on Substack. In that weekly email, we will be sharing a “readlist”—it’s like a playlist for books. It’s a group of 3-10 books that fit together in a fun category like “good choices in bad circumstances” or “rainy Sunday afternoon” or “long layover” or “coming-of-age drama.” It’s a fun little thing to help you find (or recall) more books, especially books that came out much earlier than this year or last. Readlists are a feature that, for now, you’ll only get through our Substack posts/emails.
